Daddry Shield
     
Small village on the south bank of the River Wear in Weardale, Co. Durham.  A short distance from St. John's Chapel, Daddry
Shield is mainly a farming community surrounded by plenty of open countryside.  The word "Shield" appears in a number of
place names here in the north-east of England.
