BOWES MOOR Bowes Moor Also called the Stainmore Gap, Bowes Moor forms part of the Forest of Stainmore, an area of remote, mainly open moorland north of situated between Tan Hill and Barnard Castle and straddling North Yorkshire, Cumbria and County Durham.
