	Mines of Alston Moor R.A. Fairburn Book by the Northern Mine Research Society and is currently out of print, "The Mines of Alston Moor" concentrates more on the history of mining around Alston and Nenthead rather than the contempory exploration side.
	The Caves of Northumberland Chris Scaife Well worth a mention here is this guide to Northumberland's caves which includes part of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  Most of these caves can be visited without the need for specialist equipment.
